Delaney's newest catch phrase is "Don't like it!" We hear it all day long.
Here are some instances when she might use it:
-when we offer her a new food item (or one that she has liked the day before)
-when we try to sing a song in the car
-when we ask her to count
-when we try to put on her diaper
-when we try to put her in her car seat
-when we try to put clothes or socks on
You get the point...she says this A LOT!!
Her other obsession is adding the word baby to every word she says. Here is a little skit to illustrate this:
Me: Delaney, want to sing a song?
DK: Spider. (Itsy Bitsy Spider) Baby spider. (She lets me sing one line and then stops me.)
DK: Twinkle. Baby twinkle. (She lets me sing one line and then stops me.)
DK: ABC. Baby ABC. (I sing a few letters and she stops me.)
DK: Froggy. Baby froggy.
You probably get the point...she also says baby airplane, baby people, baby Penny, baby baby baby!!!
Delaney loves her school. If you ask her who her friends are she can name them all. (She likes to repeat SCOTTY ALLIE SCOTTY ALLIE over and over...) Her teacher says she knows every kid's name, even those not in her class. She also knows whose stuff is whose. She often helps the kids gather their belongings when they are leaving.
Our cat bit Delaney a few weeks ago and Thad put Penny in timeout and said "Bad Penny!" Now Delaney says it every time she sees Penny. She never wants Penny coming in her room. She will say "No Penny" if Penny tries to get close or sits on her stuff. But when Penny is minding her own business sleeping or laying around, Delaney will go up to her and put her head on her back or kiss her. Or sometimes she pats her lap and says "Come here Penny." I guess it is a love/hate relationship...
Some other cute things DK says:
UHOH spaghettios!
Sound!
Laney do (Delaney do)
Daddy home
TB (TV)
Tired!
Bad lady! (to Disney villians or random ladies at stores)
No running boys! (she got this from school)
those are great!
ReplyDeleteI love "no running boys"; she has the teacher gene for sure, thanks for the update, her chit chat makes me smile :)
