What's new?

Miss Delaney is quite the little character. She cracks us up every day. I love taking her out because she loves to wave to everyone she sees. Most of the time people don't notice her waving at them, so I get their attention. They always smile at her and most people stop and chat.

Delaney is taking about 3-4 steps now. She will be walking in no time! She is really good at standing up on her own.

Delaney finished her first year of school on Thursday. She is excited about having the summer off with Mom and Dad.

Delaney LOVES shoes! She wants to play with them, crawl around with them in her hand, and tries to put them on and take them off. Most of her shoes are way too big on her because her feet are so tiny. Aunt Rach can't wait for her to be able to wear her baby Toms.

Delaney is now giving kisses. It melts your heart! You ask her for a kiss and she holds her lips up to you or she opens her mouth and touches yours. Thad and I can't get enough of her hugs and kisses!!

PS--Delaney misses her grandparents!

Thad's Graduation, DK's Birthday, and Grandparents' Visit

What a busy weekend for the Anderson Family! Thad's parents arrived on Thursday and my parents arrived on Friday.

We had Thad's graduation on Saturday. We took Delaney and she was very well-behaved. I kept her in a kid area until they started reading the names. We got in right as Thad walked across the stage and was hooded. We are so proud of him! We got some cute pics of Thad in his graduation gown with Delaney. I will post them soon. We celebrated Thad's success at a Brazilian steakhouse that night.

Sunday was Delaney's birthday party. Everything went as planned. Delaney took a short nap before the party so she was well rested and ready to play with all her friends. She rode around in her new wagon, splashed in the baby pool, walked through the squirting seal, swung on the swings, and slid down the slide. She ate some snacks and played with her cupcake for a few seconds. She opened a few presents at the party. She got so many nice gifts from everyone. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family! To see some pictures from the party, please visit Thad's gallery below.

Sunday evening we went to the Oasis restaurant for dinner. We watched the sun set, listened to some live music, and watched people dance.

Monday we went to Wimberly and walked around the shops. We ate lunch at a place on the river. A band was playing and we enjoyed sitting outdoors listening to them play. When we got home we went to our neighborhood park for a Memorial Day party given by the Homeowner's Association. Thad's parents left in the evening. My parents leave tomorrow morning.

Delaney enjoyed spending time with the grandparents. She showed off a lot and they loved all her tricks. We all predict that she will be walking very soon.

First Haircut

Before--
business in the front

Before--
party in the back

After

After--No more mullett!

I don't know what I think about her cut. It is a lot shorter than I wanted.
I hope it grows quickly.

Playing at the pool

Delaney has been going to swim class for the last two weeks. The teacher was not very good, but we tried to make the best of it. We sung songs, blew bubbles in the water, and splashed and kicked. Delaney didn't like being laid back into the water. The class was late in the day so she was often whiny. She liked when both Thad and I were in the water. We would have her "swim" to the other one. The pool the class was at is a free neighborhood pool so we will definitely go back a lot over the summer.
