Delaney 1st Year

Thad and I have enjoyed Delaney's first year so much. She has been a very good baby and we look forward to the year ahead. I am sure it will go by quickly. This year surely did!

Here are some of her latest tricks:

She gives high fives.

She shakes her finger when we say no to her.

She makes a motorboat sound when you ask her what a boat says.

She growls, quacks, and barks.

She points at objects and people.

She says BYE-BYE.

She says BABY.

She says BALL.

She stands by herself until she realizes she isn't holding on to anything.

She feeds herself her bottle.

Remember when?

Mother's Day

Thad (I mean Delaney) made me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. They created scavenger hunts for me to find my gifts. I got a new stroller and a handmade "Mother's Day Tree". After Delaney's nap, we went to run a few errands and went out to lunch at BJs. They were giving away champagne glasses to Moms. Delaney was a very good girl while we ate. When we got home, we watched a movie and played with Delaney. Thad made me a nice salad for dinner and cut up a watermelon for dessert. I had a great day!

Doesn't Lyla look cute in her little Hawaiian dress???

We had a great time at Lyla's 1st birthday party. Her mommies did an awesome job with the decorations and food. It made me excited for Delaney's party coming up on the 24th.

My students

I was standing on a chair taking this picture when the principals came into my classroom to tell me that I get to stay at my school teaching 4th grade. I was very excited to get this news. I was going to have to go to the Job Fair today. I am glad to know that if we stay in Austin that I can stay at the school I have been teaching at for 5 years. I love my team teacher Melissa, my team, and my students. The picture shows the kids with their pinatas that we made Friday. We had a fiesta to celebrate the end of TAKS testing. The kids worked really hard so we thought they deserved a fun day. We gave them chips, salsa, queso, bean dip, mexican cookies, and drinks. They played games, watched a movie, and had a long recess. We had to tell them at the end of the day that Monday it would be back to work. One more month of school to go!
