The latest and greatest with Delaney Kate

Delaney amazes me every day. She has started repeating things that she hears, so we have to watch what we say around her. She has been doing the Your Baby Can Read program for the last month or so and her vocabulary is growing. She watches an interactive video once or twice a day, reads the books and does the flashcards. She will be reading before we know it!

Delaney is very fascinated with the bathroom and toilet paper. She likes ripping off toilet paper and putting it in the toilet. Then she flushes. I hope this infatuation makes potty training easy. She tells us when she goes number 2 so I think she will be ready soon. I can't wait to see her in little undies.

Delaney also loves throwing things in the trash. If she sees paper, a napkin, or a wipe, she will walk to the kitchen and throw it away without being told. She recognizes trash cans everywhere we go and loves it when I give her something to throw away.

When I pick Delaney up from school she always says "Hot, hot, hot!" when we get outside. Right now the church has a pumpkin patch out front so she says pumpkin when she sees them. She can also say scarecrow and trick or treat. We are having her practice for Halloween.

Delaney and Penny, our cat, have gotten very close. Delaney is so cute with her. She likes to lay her head on Penny's belly. She walks by and says hi and pets her. Penny use to swat at her, but she has gotten much nicer. Delaney holds her finger to her mouth and says SHHH when Penny is sleeping.

Delaney is still using a pacifier. She has actually become obsessed with it. She calls it her "pati". Her teacher has to hide her bag at school because she will sneak in it and get it out. We hope she will give it up soon.

Delaney loves being softly tickled. Nana started it and now she will ask to be tickled and will tickle you on your belly or back.

Delaney likes to come up from behind and hug you. It is the sweetest thing ever.

Delaney is not eating much better, but she has tried a few new things, such as kettle corn. She, of course, loves it because it is salty and sweet. Her favorite foods remain yogurt, crackers, pretzels, shredded cheese, and peanut butter. She loves her milk and drinks water really well.
